A search was on to find a venue where the show could grow to its former glory, the new location now being the Manatee Convention & Civic Center at the southern end of Tampa Bay. After a successful April show, we will have a second date in November 2008. Come join us for one of the longest running of all reptile shows!

Rat Snakes!!!
Daniel Parker from Sunshine Serpents will be doing a Powerpoint presentation on "North American Rat Snakes - Natural History and Captive Care". Daniel facilitates educational programs all over Florida for schools and civic groups. Be sure to learn more about this most popular of herp species from Daniel.
The following is a description of this specific presentation from his website: "With a new emphasis on snakes that make good display subjects, rat snakes of the species Elaphe obsoleta have experienced a recent surge in popularity in the specialty pet trade. This species is one of our long term specialties at Sunshine Serpents. We have bred all of the subspecies and worked with many different morphs and localities. Daniel Parker has also caught and photographed all of the subspecies and many geographic variants in the wild. In this presentation, we discuss techniques for keeping and breeding these snakes in captivity. We also discuss the habits and habitats of wild rat snakes and how to find them. This program includes powerpoint and runs around one hour.
Warm & Furry
If you happen to enjoy mammals as much or more than the cool & scaley creatures, stop by PC Reptiles and Exotics to meet some of their monkeys and other exotics. They have begun a breeding program, so learn more and perhaps be tempted to bring a little bit of the jungle into your home, and get involved in a little monkey business.
