September of 2009 Repticon expanded West with Repticon Memphis, a great new show in an area that was long-overdue for a major reptile expo. Hosted at the Southaven Arena in Southaven, Mississippi, just 3 miles South of the Tennessee-Mississippi state line and 9 miles from the Memphis airport, guests from Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi had a chance to encounter a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians that they might not have had the opportunity to experience in their home cities. (Guests from outside of Mississippi purchasing pets to take home should check first to make sure their new pets are welcome by their local laws.) Repticon Memphis was also the second Repticon show to feature a venomous-included area, featuring non-native venomous snakes from around the world. Lots of herpers came out to the show from all over the tri-state area. With a great second show in May 2010 under our belt, be sure to join us in October 2010 for what is becoming a new standard - Repticon Memphis!

Local reptile rescue, Cold Blooded Rescue League, will be at Repticon Memphis to promote and inform the public regarding the work they do for reptiles in need. They will be giving a presentation with several of their rescue animals and introducing them to the crowd. Come learn about the importance of understanding an animal's needs before purchase, general care tips on housing reptiles economically while meeting their needs, and also a discussion on adopting reptiles. Stop by and enjoy the iguanas, tortoises, pythons, and other reptiles they will be bringing, and learn more on how you might help a homeless reptile!

Chuck Hurd Venomous Reptile Presentation!
On Sunday only, venomous reptile expert Chuck Hurd will be on hand with a presentation involving some spectacular and dangerous animals. Seen often at the hot show in Columbia, Chuck Hurd will share his knowledge at this hot show, Repticon Memphis. So stop by with any questions about venomous species you may have, and see what surprises Chuck (and his animals) have in store!
