In 2008, the Florida International Reptile Show, in a three year journey to find a permament home, ran twice at the Manatee Convention & Civic Center at the southern end of Tampa Bay. Since that show has returned to its previous home in Tampa proper at the State Fairgrounds, the popular Manatee Convention & Civic Center shows near Bradenton, FL continued through 2009 as Repticon Sarasota (previously also called Repticon Manatee). With a demand in Southwestern Florida for reptile and exotic animal shows, this great show location will again host a Repticon show in November of 2010. Come join us in South Tampa Bay for what is becoming a tradition of the last Repticon show of the calendar year!
Featuring reptile and amphibian breeders and wholesalers, reptile pet products and supplies, educational seminars and exhibits, and fun-filled activities for the entire family!

The LB Reptile Experience
The LB Reptile Experience is a reptile rescue program from Jacksonville that takes over 400 calls a year for both exotic and indigenous reptiles. Exploding on the Sarasota scene off of great presentations at other Repticon shows, their presentation and seminar will be hands on, as the kids get to touch the animals and hold some of them, as they learn the special stories of these rescued herps from Bob Shumaker. If you like meeting the big reptiles, stop by this presentation and learn more.
Bruce Shwedick will be displaying "Banana Boy" a 16 foot albino Burmese python and other reptiles that are a part of the educational programs he provides to schools and other organizations.
He will also be celebrating "Banana Boy's" 20th birthday. "Banana Boy" was featured in 3000 presentations at Cypress Gardens from 1996-2001 and at present, along with Bruce, is completing his third tour of schools across the US. These tours have taken them both to over 1000 schools in more than 40 states. Guests will have a chance to meet "Banana Boy" and have a photo taken with him. No fee will be charged for photos, but guests must bring their own cameras.
Bruce will also present programs each day in the presentation area, which will include a snapping turtle and endangered crocodilians!
Herps for Beginners!

Kevin from T & C Reptiles will give a presentation on how beginners to the reptile hobby can and should pick out their first pets. This is a great opportunity for anyone who may be thinking about getting a new animal at the show to be fully ready for the responsibility and fun of reptile keeping, and also find the animal that is a perfect fit for them. Be sure to ask questions at this presentation, which also often includes some live animals.
Bill Love of Blue Chameleon Ventures
BRING YOUR CAMERA!

Interactive HERP PHOTOGRAPHY Seminar
Renowned Herp photographer Bill Love will be facilitating an interactive seminar on how to photograph herps, so bring your camera to the show! Please check the schedule above for information as to when Bill Love will be giving this seminar.

Daniel Parker of Sunshine Serpents and University of Central Florida gives a general overview of the snake species of the southeastern United States with an emphasis on identification, conservation, and venomous snake safety. This presentation will include a colorful powerpoint presentation and live snakes."

Invertebrates!

Venomous Herps are Coming!
Repticon Sarasota will again feature our Venomous Display, courtesy of Home Grown Herps and Preserve Venomous. So stop by and see what slithers into the show, safely behind glass of course!

Unusual Mammals!

If you love mammals as much as reptiles, stop by PC Reptiles and Exotics to meet some of their monkeys and other exotic mammals. They have begun a breeding program, so learn more and perhaps be tempted to bring a little bit of the jungle into your home with an exotic pet monkey, flying squirrel, or other creature.
