These Rules & Information are provided as a convenience to Repticon vendors and exhibitors, and may not be comprehensive for every animal. Each vendor is responsible for researching and complying with all current laws regarding their animals.

Overview of Regulations:
- Out of state vendors require a license for indigenous reptile species and listed non-indigenous reptile species. The 3 day license is $75.00, and known as the "Class I-5 3-Day Nonresidence Reptile & Amphibian Wholesale/Retail Dealer." (The permit is required for non-native species listed under the new law enacted November 15, 2010.) The three day permit covers both indigenous and listed non-indigenous listed reptiles.
-The permit application cannot be downloaded from the internet. Vendors must either call to get the application sent to them or the permit can also be purchased in person at the Baton Rouge office on Quail Dr. The license window is on the first floor, with office hours from M-F, 8:15AM – 4:15PM.- A Restricted Snake Permit is required for buyers who wish to purchase snakes 8ft or larger or venomous snakes (the purchaser has 30 days to apply for the permit.) The permit is free and can be obtained by emailing Jeff Boundy at the address listed above.
- Roadside and parking lot sales are prohibited.
- Sale of arachnids is allowed.

Restrictions Specific to Caddo Parish for the Shreveport Show:
-All venomous Reptiles, all crocodiles, and komodo dragons are banned.
Boas and pythons exceeding 3' require permit - Class I-5 3 day non resident Reptile and amphibian wholesale/retail dealer available on site at venue
- Restricted Mammals: Tigers, lions, cougars, leopards, jaguars, cheetahs, lynx, bobcats, bears, wolves, chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, African buffalo, hyenas, coyotes, deer, non human primates, raccoons, skunks, foxes, hybrid species consisting of wolves, coyotes, or jackals interbred with domestic dogs, or hybrids of ocelots or margays interbred with domestic cats.

Waivers – All vendors with venomous snakes must sign a waiver upon check in and have all customers do the same.
All Venomous Vendors and their Staff – No Open Toed Shoes allowed!
Containers – All venomous reptiles must be housed in secured, taped and unbreakable containers and labeled as such prior to the customers leaving with purchase. No venomous reptiles may be removed from containers and lids of such containers shall not be removed, except in the hot room. NO venomous reptile will be taken out of its container nor will the container be unsealed under any circumstances other then in the hot room.
Only RED tape will be allowed on venomous containers. Red tape is to be used ONLY on venomous containers.
Sales Policies & Procedures – Venomous snakes are not to be sold to anyone under 18 or to anyone who obviously does not possess the knowledge or experience to handle venomous snakes. Venomous reptiles which have been sold will be tagged and remain at vendors’ booth until buyer is departing from show. Customer is to sign a waiver; then advise customer to return when ready to depart from the building. At this time the vendor will give the waiver and reptiles to show staff or Venomous Staff who will escort the customer as they exit the show. Any vendor not adhering to this policy and giving their customers venomous reptiles purchased will be ejected from the show immediately and no refund issued.

| Are there any restrictions on the products or animals that can be sold at Repticon? All animals must be healthy and legal to sell within the state. Vendors who intentionally and repeatedly offer illegal or unhealthy animals for sale may be banned from future shows. Frozen Rodents: Feeder Source is the exclusive provider of frozen rodents at all Repticon shows. No other vendor may offer frozen rodents, promote frozen rodent sales, or bring a freezer into any Repticon show without the approval of Feeder Source. Live feeder rodents may be sold by any vendor where local law permits. Feeder Insects: Premium Crickets is the exclusive provider of feeder insects at all Repticon shows in FL, GA, AL, NC, and SC. FeederSource is the exclusive provider of feeder insects at all Repticon shows in all other States. No other vendor may offer feeder insects at Repticon shows without the prior approval of Premium Crickets or Feeder Source depending upon which company retains the exclusive at a given show. Dry Goods: No vendor has dry-goods exclusivity at any Repticon show. To avoid excessive duplication of product at a particular show, the number of vendors offering more than a table of new dry-goods will be capped at two or three for some Repticon shows, varying by market (click here for a list of limits by market.) "Dry Goods" are considered to be products utilized inside reptile enclosures to maintain reptile pets, such as substrate, vitamin supplements, light bulbs, etc. Aquariums, enclosures not packaged with other dry goods, screen enclosures, custom-built enclosures, t-shirts, and other reptile merchandise are NOT considered dry goods. This cap applies to dry-goods being purchased from a distributor or manufacturer for retail sale. Any vendor may offer dry goods that they or their company produces themselves without restriction.
