"Reptilian Encounters"
with Jeff Mohr
Jeff has been using reptiles and amphibians to educate all ages for over 10 years. While in the Galapagos
Islands,
he received his nickname "El Jefe." More than a mere hobby, he has actively pursuied these
creatures in all facets
of his life. He has appeared on countless local stations as well as national TV.
Here a just a few of his many credentials:
Masters in Zoology
Oklahoma State University
-studying Timber Rattlesnakes
Bachelors in Science
Furman University, Greenville, SC
Tropical Reptile Keeper at Riverbanks
Zoo, Columbia, South Carolina
-while at Riverbanks, Jeff worked
with such animals as anacondas, king
cobras, mambas, gaboon vipers,
monitors and numerous other
fascinating creatures.
Intern at Savannah River Ecology Laboratory
studying all reptiles and amphibians including
publishing a scientific paper on frogs
Tropical Ecology of Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands with major concentration on the reptiles and amphibians.
Reptilian and Mammalian Ecology of the Desert Southwest

VenomousReptiles.Org contributor Chuck Hurd holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University
of
Tennessee and is licensed to teach in Tennessee and Georgia. He has been keeping venomous reptiles
since 1990. While in the unrestricted state of Virginia his collection included exotics such as
Naja n. naja and Bitis gabonica gabonica as well as indigenous species. Chuck’s collection is now
housed in north Georgia and consists all venomous species indigenous to the state.
Mr. Hurd will be facilitating the South Carolina Venomous Species display at the show.
